The Zoo

Yesterday, we took Harrison to the place he belongs most, the Jacksonville Zoo. The weather was beautiful and it was time to take our little animal to see all that this place has to offer. Needless to say, he fit right in and after a 3 hour visit, he was still going strong. Robert and I were not quite as energized. After walking the zoo with a stroller, wrangling Harrison from exhibit to exhibit, and playing paparazzi to the animals, we were ready to go. But the zoo was awesome and a great place to take our weekend adventure. We plan on visiting again and next time I will suggest to the zoo director that they set up a very unique exhibit....the Harrison Exhibit. This show will require many trainers to be on hand and to be prepared for occasional out of control behavior.

Bath Time

Harrison always finds himself in a good mood when he is in the bath. And for that reason, I love bathtime too. But secretly, I also like it for another reason. And that reason is hairstyles.

I don't think I would want Harrison to walk around with some kind of punk rock do by day, but when he's in the bath I can style his hair with ease into an adorable mohawk and it seems perfectly normal. What a rockstar!

Welcome to the World BeBe

BeBe (Beverly Bealle) Rosenbloom was born Sunday the 28th. She is so adorable! Harrison is thrilled to have a cousin and I'm certain that they will be lots of fun together.

Weather Forecast

The weather has started to heat up around here and it's prime time to get out and play. There's only so much destruction that our house can take after a winter season. Destruction being in the form of an almost 2 year old child and his will to destroy or rearrange everything in the house that isn't one of his own toys. And being that the weather this past weekend was next to perfect, the beach was the place to go. How can you destroy a beach? Oh yeah, a hurricane. Well, I have a name suggestion that starts with an H for the next hurricane season. This one is a category 5.

Valentine's Day in Naples

Robert and I went to Naples this past weekend to visit some of our best friends, Ryan & Kristina. It was a little chilly even for south Florida but we had a great time. We relaxed in the hot tub, ate some great food, and took advantage of the fact that we were baby free for an entire weekend.

And, as usual, Harrison had a vacation of his own. This past weekend he assembled an entourage of people to look after him. Not entirely because he needs hands on attention but mainly because there should be an audience for him at all times. I'm pretty sure this worked out well for him because he was very upset to see everyone go once we got back. I know he is looking forward to another visit from some of his biggest fans.

MOSH Museum

Today, Harrison, Robert, my mom, and I took an adventure to the Museum of Science & History in Jacksonville. Thanks to my friend, Amanda, who blogs about all kinds of awesome deals at www.afewshortcuts.com, we found out that admission to the museum was free this weekend when you show them your Bank of America card.

A deal like that is hard to pass up...especially when you are on a mission to ensure that your child is getting the adequate activity needed in a day so that he will sleep through the night. And by Harrison's standards, adequate activity means running a marathon backwards through the Blue Ridge Mountains only to cartwheel your way back on one hand. This is NOT an exaggeration.

There were lots of things for him to check out and even though he wasn't sure what to make of some of the exhibits, there was still plenty of fun pushing buttons, watching fish, and splashing at the water table.
