Brooks Elizabeth Lyons

It's been quite a while since I last posted anything but I think I have a pretty good excuse. Between the nesting and bringing home baby and oh yeah, wrangling a 2 and a half year old after rocking his whole world with a new sibling, I simply have not had enough time to do much of anything. But not to worry, I now have plenty of ammo for my future posts so get ready for an overload of pictures and whatever else I decide to write about.

Miss Brooks was born October 18th at 11:03 in the morning and she weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces. She is so adorable and I think we have decided to keep her. Harrison has adjusted surprisingly well and insists on giving her kisses at every opportunity. And when I say opportunity, I have a feeling that means whenever he thinks we are watching so that he can get showered with praise and the occasional "you deserve a treat for being such a good big brother". Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion that he thinks she may be "going back" at some point which could make for a very interesting ordeal in the near future. BUT for now, he's happy so we are ALL happy.

Here are some pictures of our little princess from her 1st days in the hospital. We are so in love with her and are very excited about this new chapter in our lives. Life has just become even more interesting!

Harrison's Surgery

This past week has been a dramatic one. Harrison had his tongue clipped and his adenoids removed last Thursday and we have been recovering ever since. I say "we" because Harrison has kept us keenly aware of his disappointment with the situation ever since he ever so peacefully awoke from his sedated state. I feel fortunate that I did not know how difficult this would be prior to the surgery. I was under the impression that this was a minor procedure and that recovery would be a day or 2. I was wrong.

The good news: I think he is finally recovering! Here are a few pictures of Harrison from the last week. And from the pictures, you won't be able to tell that he just had surgery. I guess everyone looks happy when they're in costume. I know I do!

Sea World & Aquatica

We went to Orlando last weekend with our some of best friends and had an awesome time. This was Harrison's last horah as an only child so we went big! On Friday we all headed to Sea World for the entire day. The boys, Harrison & Finn, had a blast at the park and according to Robert's watch, we walked about 7 and a half miles. This was a good thing because I am starting to see similarities between me and Shamu in the size department.

We also stayed at an amazing resort where the boys were able to spend the later part of the afternoon hanging by the pool. And on Saturday, we spent the morning and afternoon at Aquatica. This waterpark was so much fun and once again, I was reminded that exercize is going to be a crucial part of my schedule in the upcoming months seeing as it took me almost 5 minutes to get out of an innertube. The festivities extended into the evening as we hit up Downtown Disney where we went to a great restaurant called the Rainforest Cafe.

It was such a fun weekend and as always, we loved getting to spend time with our friends, Angel, Reint and Finn!!

Just a warning...this post contains an obscene amount of pictures.

Beach Boys

Just another day at the beach...with friends.

Art Show

I had my very own art show September 9th at my parents' house in Jacksonville. It was a huge success and I was so pleased with the number of people who attended. The night was a lot of fun and I hope to have another show in a few months.
