Yacht Club with Cousins

We don't like to miss out on an opportunity to see our cousins. So when we found out that my cousin's daughter, Lilly, was going to be in town from LA to stay with my aunt, Brooks, we headed into Jacksonville for a day at the pool. Even more perfect... Aunt Holly, Aunt Leigh and BeBe were there to enjoy the afternoon also. We had a fantastic time sitting by the pool watching the kids and of course, chasing them all over the place.

My Birthday Dinner Lobsterfest

Last night my family came to Palm Coast to celebrate my birthday. My dad, who is trying to clean out his freezer so he can stock up on his next big lobster hunt, brought a bunch of DELICIOUS lobsters from his previous trip last year. They were so good. They were even more appetizing with the coconut cake that my grandmother, Ma, made for me and the thirst quenching margaritas that we made. It was a fun night with the fam and a very nice 34th birthday treat.

Snakes Alive!

What was a casual afternoon in the pool turned into a full on wild discovery adventure. Robert spotted a snake in our pool as we were about to get in so naturally, Harrison and I were on the case! First, we captured the snake with a net. Next, I whipped out my "National Audubon's Society Field Guide to North American Reptiles and Amphibians" book so we could determine whether or not our new friend was poisonous. After discovering that the miniature snake in our pool was a non venomous Garter snake, Harrison and I got photos and set him free. It was an exciting experience for Harrison to catch and release his first snake and I have say, fun for me too. After all the commotion we did some practice surfing in the pool. Brooks stayed adorable and hung out by the pool, as usual. Great afternoon!

Weekend in Athens

It was another fun summer weekend in Athens. Robert was working in Georgia this week so I made the daring attempt to hustle my 2 ticking time bombs up to Athens...on my own! And guess what? We made it there in record time and without any "incidents". I know this may never happen again so I figured I might as well document it to remind myself of this rare event next time I am having a nervous breakdown while driving.

On Saturday, Robert and I were able to take a quick get away to go to our friend's wedding in Atlanta. We had a great time and had an especially good time feeling like Atlanta's elite as we spent Saturday evening at the Saint Regis Hotel in Buckhead. Thanks Natalie! On Sunday we returned to Athens to spend a delightful afternoon hanging out by the pool with Lee Lee, Bill, Mama and Da.

Harrison and Brooks had a great time and also enjoyed a fun visit to Snake Day at Sandy Creek while we were gone. Harrison has become very fond of snakes and reptiles in the last few months so I know he had a blast. He also got to fit in a few holes of golf with Grand Dad Bill. And no trip would have been complete without my little pee wees getting sick. That's right, we wrapped up the weekend just in time to tote home 2 less than pleased kiddos. Oh well, as far as car trips go, one out of 2 isn't bad.

Leigh's Afternoon Visit

Aunt Leigh came to visit us on Memorial Day and we all spent the afternoon in the pool. Fun!!!
