Easter in Jacksonville

Easter in Jacksonville was jam packed with family, friends, and lots of insanity. We had a great time but finding any time for pure laziness was not on the menu. Harrison arrived earlier in the week with Nana when she left from Naples the Tuesday before Easter. So Brooks and I made the adventure to Jacksonville by ourselves since business is starting to get super busy for Robert. And let me tell you, Brooks does not ride quietly. Her demands are quite high when she is strapped into a car seat for 6 hours. Once we arrived in Jacksonville, we had a nice dinner with lots of family. Harrison even got to show baby James some of his gaming strategies on the ipad. On Friday evening, we got to visit with our pals Saige, Susu, and Allie where the old gang got to playing and wearing down their mommies....just like old times. And Saturday and Sunday were filled with adventures of Easter egg hunting, boat rides, and fun by the Yacht Club pool with Wade and Virginia Anne. We were sad to say goodbye to family but glad to get back to our normal routine and, of course, to see Daddy!

Visitors

My mom, Brooks, Anne, Virginia Anne, and Wade all cam for a visit last week. The kids have so much fun together and I love spending time with all of them. I didn't capture enough pictures from their visit to Naples but my next post from Easter in Jacksonville has more than enough.

Spring Break

We enjoyed a week off from school to do some fun things for spring break. We went to the Naples children's museum, C'mon, for and afternoon of learning and exploration, we caught bugs in the backyard, and went to a neighborhood party at the park to celebrate St. Paddy's Day. Harrison partook in his normal activities of karate and tennis and we squeezed in a few play dates, so we had a pretty jam packed week of spring break excitement. I'd like to say that with all this activity, naps were also part of the program, but sadly, even Brooks had decided that naps must be eliminated completely. My next big investment may have to be horse tranquilizers just so that I can get some rest and a second or two to myself but for right now, we'll carry on in our usual insane style of all action, no rest.

St. Jude's Trikathon

Harrison and Brooks hit the pavement on their bikes for a great cause. Harrison rocked it without training wheels while Brooks took to the idea of slow and steady wins the race. Both did great!

Botanical Gardens Field Trip

A few weeks ago, Harrison and Brooks both had a class field trip to the Botanical Gardens. It is such a fun learning experience there for kids and there is so much to explore. I got to go along and help with both of their classes but their teachers are very good at keeping most everyone in control. The kids learned about growing vegetables, walked through the butterfly garden, and also had a scavenger hunt. The weather was very warm but the kids enjoyed their adventure.
