I didn't stay on top of blog posts over the spring but to recap on the past season I can say that we did A LOT! And being the social creatures that we are, lots of friends were involved. There were plays, baseball games, soccer games, boating adventures, backyard fun,a fair, piano recitals and who knows what else. The kids have been so busy that I really don't have much time to sit down and write about their lives as much and how they continue to amaze me and send me into a frenzy at the same time.
A lot of people have mentioned that maybe our schedule is too busy and the kids need to slow down. I'm not completely disagreeing with that, and we do plan to try and slow a few things in the fall. But, I must start by addressing the energy level in this household. It is out of control! These kids could seriously go all day in full throttle and still won't be ready to fall asleep by 9. They consider it an insult if you ask them if they are tired and to admit it would mean to admit defeat. Therefore, they have never said, "Mommy, I'm tired." NEVER.
Another reason I need them to stay busy is because when they are stagnant, they fight. And this, I can not handle. Sure, they have some moments where they play great together. And they are both very sweet kids. But, for the most part, they fight like cats and dogs. And it's over the dumbest stuff, like, who's birthday is first and who likes the color blue more. So it is best for us to be on the move with separate activities.
And the main reason we stay so busy is because the kids ask for it. They love their activities and they love to be with people. So we tend to have a lot going on...but we have a lot of fun too!
