Easter

There has ben a large gap in between my last couple posts. Life has gotten busier and I have not made the time to catch up on what's been going on in the Lyons household. But also, some devastating things have happened within my family and I have found it hard to reflect on it until now.

This post is from Easter and it was the last holiday that I was fortunate enough to spend with my mom, our "Nana". She passed away May 3rd 2018, about 3 weeks after visiting us in Naples for Easter. I will always be grateful for that time together. She is not in many of the pictures because she was not feeling her best but I can tell you that she was always beautiful. She is so missed and I struggle to write about it because I truly can't believe she is gone. She was my best friend and biggest cheerleader. There is a giant void in my heart that I intend to repair by spending time with family and embracing each second that I have with them. I have so many wonderful memories with my mom too so I can hold onto that along the way and until we are together again.

Shortly after my mom passed, my grandfather, Ralph, passed away too. This was not a coincidence as I know my mom was able to bring him closer to her. He had struggled with dementia for several years and I truly think it was a blessing. But it has made for a sad time in our lives. I know that through this sadness, we can come together as a family and try to make the most of a heart breaking situation. I have felt my moms presence in the last few weeks and I know she is guiding me in a good direction. And I plan to try and listen to her whenever I feel that connection. I love her so much!!!

So, back to the pictures from Easter. This was a wonderful time. My parents, Ma, Carter, Leigh, Christine and James were here and saw Harrison and Brooks play baseball games and soccer games. We had an amazing time laughing, talking, and hanging out at the house. Forever grateful for that time and the mother that I so fortunate to have.

Spring Break in Key Largo

Fun times again for spring break in the Keys. We went with the Provances and the Houses for a fun, 4 day trip to Key Largo and stayed at the Playa Largo Resort. The kids ran around freely and the adults enjoyed hanging out by the water. It was the perfect spot because everyone was entertained. Harrison took his first parasailing adventure with Parker which I think was the highlight for him. And Brooks and Reese played endlessly in their own imaginary land. We took a fun snorkeling trip one day which was cold, but a lot of fun. We even saw a giant manatee before getting on the boat. Great time with awesome friends!
