Yellow Belt

The HMan has blown through his white belt, his orange belt, and is now onto his yellow belt in karate. Sure, it is based on attendance but I like to think that performance is the real reason. My little ninja is still thrilled to go to karate every day that he has class and I love to see how far he has come.

Back to Business

It was back to business this afternoon...monkey business. We met our good friends from Palm Coast in St. Augustine for a much overdue play date at the carousel park. We have missed our buddies so it was awesome day for all of us to catch up and have fun!

Blue Angels at Atlantic Beach

We had a fun time at Atlantic Beach on Sunday while watching the Blue Angels. Brooks and Harrison played in the sand, looked for crabs, and twirled on the beach as the planes did their amazing stunt work in the sky. We had not been to the beach in a while so it was nice to be back. Harrison's main goal was to find shells that he could add to his aquarium for his newly acquired hermit crabs. But he took some time out to watch planes after one sped by us going about 700 miles an hour. Even though we didn't spend a lot of time at the beach the kids were exhausted by the time we left. We may to spend a few more afternoons playing at the beach. I forgot how much energy could be burned there!

Birthday Bash

My mind has been scattered but I pulled it together enough to throw a party for our sweet little Brooksie. I might not have gotten all the invitations out that I intended to and I certainly didn't have a cohesive theme for party but all and all, it was a fantastic event. Not to mention, the weather was unreal perfect. So was the company! We had a bounce house, family, and friends. What more could anyone ask for? Harrison and Brooks both got to invite a couple of friends from school so it was a group of kids that are very used to running around on the playground together.

I started out with a shoe themed party for Brooks but it came together as some kind of a shoe/Tinkerbell/pirate party which didn't really make a whole lot of sense.  But it worked.  And Nana brought Harrison a cake of his own with superheroes on it, so he was a very happy camper.  And after the party was all over, the Lyons family played for a few more hours in the bounce house.  Perfect end to a perfect day!  Happy Birthday Brooks!
