Mad Skills

Harrison is really resourceful. Just recently he has managed to climb out of his crib by climbing on stacked blankets, reach things on counters by opening drawers, and my favorite, using the coffee table as a trampoline in order to jump onto the couch.

But his resourcefulness doesn't stop there. He will also gather items around the house to wear them as his own personal outfit. Example: Yesterday, Jojo had to go to the vet because he ripped off a nail. This always results in wearing a head cone in order to keep him from licking it. Once the head cone came off, Harrison seized the opportunity to wear it as a hat. And he completed the outfit with one of Robert's shoes. He's thrifty. Just watch him in action:

Oh yeah, and I'm sure you're asking yourself "Does she ever put pants on this kid?". And the answer to that is yes. Occasionally I do. But right now I am making a lousy attempt to potty train him and my method consists of having him wear big boy underwear around the house until he gets it. This could end badly.

Back to Business

Once Robert and I got back from vacation, the "boss" had us working overtime. There was a lot that we missed in our week away from the office and he needed to fill us in. Here are some of the key points that we need to focus on this week:

5 Year Anniversary Cruise

So this past week, Robert and I went on a Norwegian cruise for our 5 year anniversary. Although the weather wasn't at it's best, it was so much fun! We had a great time visiting Grand Cayman and Cozumel plus the cruise ship was really nice.

We went snorkeling off the beach in Cozumel. And since our day excursion to swim with the sting rays in Grand Cayman was canceled because of the wind, Robert and I spent a day relaxing on the beach sipping drinks...and getting some snapshots of my favorite bathing suits.

When we weren't in port (and since the weather wasn't great) we took advantage of the many great restaurants on the ship as well as the many bars. We also played a couple mean hands of gin. Most of which I lost, sending me into a frenzy, and at one point, causing me to overturn an entire checkerboard after realizing that I was nowhere close to winning that game either. Eventually Robert realized I was just letting him win.

Most of all, Robert and I had fun spending the entire week, just the two of us. And although we REALLY REALLY missed the little man, we both agreed that had he been on the boat with us, we would have spent the majority of our time trying to keep him from jumping off the ship. The other time would have been spent apologizing to the staff and other passengers for whatever mischief he had been into. BUT it was so great to see him once we got home! And I think he enjoyed himself just as much as we did because he got to spend the entire week with all of his grandparents. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful week!
