Christmas in Athens

We headed up to Athens this past week to spend Christmas with Robert's family. And guess what? Santa came back to visit Harrison. I'm under the impression that Harrison has worked out some kind of a deal with the elves to make sure that Santa doesn't check his list twice.

But Harrison was on his best behavior while we were in Athens and he really got into the holiday as soon as he got his new pair of cowboy boots. Plus he got a few more gifts that even the adults had fun playing with.

We had a great visit with EVERYONE and are very thankful that we have so much family to celebrate the holidays with!

Christmas in Jacksonville

Harrison must have been nice this year because Santa has already been pretty good to him. I mean, I can think of few times that he definitely leaned toward the naughty side but I guess OVERALL he was a good boy.

Here are some pictures of our early Christmas in Jacksonville.

Robert's Big Run

We spent this past Saturday night in Jacksonville to do a little Christmas celebrating with the family and to celebrate the engagement of my brother, Carter and his fiance, Leigh. And Robert decided that this would be a good time to squeeze in a 13.5 mile run that he has been itching to do for some time now. We woke up REALLY early on Sunday morning to get there and he was off by 7:00. Robert ran with his friend, Cary who is no stranger to these kinds of events and Robert finished with an outstanding time - he ran each mile at minute faster than his usual pace! That's impressive. You won't see me running in any of these events. Why? Because I would like to be able to use my legs someday in the future for things like walking or pushing my swivel chair from one side of the room to the next. But that's another set of issues and since Robert does not seem bothered, I applaud him. Great job, Robert! You worked hard for this.

The Production of a Christmas Card

Dramatics! That is what I get for trying to add antlers to an 18 month old. As you can see, Harrison does not like to have anything touching his gorgeous blonde locks. So when I decided to add the finishing festive touches to my perfectly staged Christmas card, all hell broke loose. It's all I can do to get shoes on this boy but to place an unnecessary form of apparel on his head...forget it. BUT my obsession for the perfect Christmas card prevailed and I was able to finally get the shot I wanted. Once again, at the price of my own sanity.

I know what you're thinking right here and no, I am not trying to strangle him. I am trying to wipe something off his face.

Notice the change in attitude once the clothes come off.

Natalie & Zach's Engagement Party

Here are some of the pictures from our weekend in Athens. We went to celebrate Natalie & Zach's engagement and had a wonderful time. The party was spectacular and the soon to be bride and groom looked like a million bucks.

Who did not feel like a million bucks?? The babysitter. After dealing with Harrison for 6 hours I think she was ready to do some celebrating of her own.

Harrison did enjoy himself while we were there. He discovered what it is like to actually have fall leaves around, he explored the Athens Zoo, and he made a small attempt at tailgating. And by small attempt I mean he made no effort at all to pretend like he could behave at such an event. Note to self: Under no circumstances will you ever take Harrison to a tailgate party again with the intention of having a good time. We did have a lot of fun in Athens for the rest of the weekend and as always, it was great to see everyone!
