Bike Ride at Waterfront Park

We took a bike ride this past weekend at Waterfront Park. It does take a little bit of extra effort to get 3 bikes, a kid's trailer, 2 kids and a dog to the trail but well worth it once you actually get there. We spent some extra time inspecting the shore for crabs and for Harrison and Jojo to take a dip in the water. This was Brooks' first excursion in the bike trailer and she loved it...as long as the bike was moving.

Alligator Farm

We took an early afternoon trip to the Alligator Farm, yesterday, with Nana. There was a lot to see and even in the extremely hot weather, we all had a great time. Who would have guessed that Harrison would love seeing all this place had to offer?? Even Brooks had a great time checking out all the exotic wildlife but she preferred to view the scenery without being confined to a stroller. Why do I even take that thing anywhere? No one ever sits in it! This place certainly didn't lack any alligators and we also enjoyed their additional exhibits, one being a 20 foot python!

This monkey was so cute until it started peeing on everyone. Then it wasn't so cute.

I don't think these two realized we were indoors.

The Pea

It's only a matter of days and this little girl is going to be taking some steps. Our little peanut, or as we call her, the Pea, does not like to sit still for long. You can't even feed her a bottle because she has to be moving at all times. In fact, she is so independent already that she doesn't even want to be fed baby food. She would rather pick up pieces to eat on her own. Brooks is such a happy baby and has recently gotten her second bottom tooth. I have been fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with her while Harrison has been in school and it is so much fun to watch her learn and play. Most of the day she spends chasing Jojo or Charlie around the house and the rest of her time is spent trying to get my attention...which always works.

So far, she is standing on her own and is attempting to take a step. She is crawling at the speed of light and the more she is around Harrison, the more she tries to keep up with his speed, which is faster than light. Brooks will go with the flow as long as someone else is in the room with her but once they leave she can get mad as a hornet. She is a sneaky little devil and there's a little gleam in her eyes when she's up to something that tells me I'm in trouble in a few years. I'm trying to prepare myself because that little gleam is already a reality with Harrison. But it keeps us laughing and it certainly makes life more interesting!

Wade & Harrison - Tennis Pros in Training

It was back to the Yacht Club, yesterday, to see Harrison's best bud and cousin, Wade. They got their very own private tennis lesson and did a great job, mostly working on their hand/eye coordination with a couple tries at whacking the tennis ball. Sure there were a few times that they forgot they were supposed to be focusing on what their instructor was telling them but then again, it's hard to focus when you're in the scorching sun and you know the pool is only a few feet away. These two are definitely on their way to Wimbledon and no doubt, a full tennis scholarship to any college they desire.

After tennis, it was off to the pool for a nice cool down and ice cream. Such fun!
