Well...it's been a month and I finally got a new camera to capture all the endless insanity that goes on around here. Here are a few snapshots from the weekend as we tried to teach Harrison how to ride a bike without training wheels. He pretty much has it down and I think he would have been able to accomplish this milestone if there hadn't been so many obstacles in our way. First of all, Robert is a safety man who would prefer that Harrison wear complete body armor going down a soft, grassy hill to learn his new craft. I have to assume that if I had not been there, Robert would have tossed out pillows the second he started to see the bike teetering on the edge. I on the other hand, prefer to send him down the sidewalk, keep my fingers crossed, and if he happens to get a scrape or two...no big deal. So we had some tweaking to do on our strategy. Second problem, we brought Jojo. This would be fine and dandy if Jojo wasn't on the same level as Robert as far as protectiveness. But it becomes counterproductive when a 70 pound dog knocks Harrison off of his bike while he is trying to keep his balance because the dog feels that he can't be further than an inch away. And lastly, and this was out biggest obstacle believe it or not, we brought the nap deprived honey badger along for the ride with a bike of her own thinking that this would occupy her as we focused on her older brother. Bad idea!
So, once we finished the ride, or should I say, tossed in the towel, we headed back home to recharge. How do Harrison and Brooks recharge you ask? By catching frogs in the back yard of course. I'm so glad to have a camera again because this kind of stuff can not go undocumented. These guys are one of a kind!
