Congo River Golf

Normally I wouldn't post this many pictures of a mini golf trip but since my posts have been scarce lately and because I thought the pictures were ridiculously cute, I'll post more than usual. Congo River is a short drive from our house and this was our second adventure there. The kids love it along with the arcade and the rock mining that they can do at the end. There is a mini alligator section too where you can feed the gators and turtles. Basically, this place has everything that Harrison and Brooks need for entertainment.

Getaway Cruise!

Robert and I managed to sneak away a few weeks ago (thanks to Lee Lee for watching the kids and driving down from Athens to do it!). It was a 3 day cruise but the perfect amount of time to step away from reality and relax a little. We had a great time on our weekend excursion to the Bahamas. We hung out in the sun, had great food and drinks, and most importantly, slept in and took daily naps! This was a long overdue trip and we both had a wonderful time!

Back to School

My babies started a new year of school and here are their pictures from the first day. Harrison is in kindergarten at Pelican Marsh Elementary and so far we are loving it there. It is a whole new world from the sheltered life of preschool to the big ocean of public school kindergarten (there are 8 kindergarten classes at his school!) but Harrison has made the adjustment quite well. We had a few weeks of working on behavior in class but lately he has really been doing well. Of course, we are only 2 months into the school year so I'm sure I will see my share of teacher visits to discuss conduct but so far I think we are on the right track.

Brooks is going to a preschool right next to Harrison's school called Our Savior Lutheran and she loves it. So far I have only had one write up for her behavior...she is the honey badger so what can I say. I am so happy that they both love school and enjoy their friends and most of the time, their teachers. They are staying involved in karate, tee ball, sports club, and ballet so I can't say they are lazy and we are making sure to spend quality time on Harrison's sight words and reading. It exhausts me to think of everything that these kiddos need to do in a day but if they sit still for too long, I'm in trouble!

A Visit From Hoyt, Holly, and BeBe

We had a great visit from Hoyt, Holly and BeBe back in August. We took full advantage of their stay at the Ritz one afternoon by the pool and had a great time visiting over dinners at our house. We hope they are able to visit us again soon as a family of 4!
