These two clowns were in need of a photo shoot today so I took it upon myself to make sure that happened. Lately, Harrison has decided that not looking at the camera accentuates his devious side, so getting a picture with him smiling directly into the camera is a lot like photographing a unicorn. Brooks, on the other hand, is a camera magnet and I'm pretty sure she enjoys every photo session that we've had to date.
On an update note, Harrison continues to be one of the most outgoing people I know. We went on a walk yesterday and he went up to every person who pulled into their driveway, walked over to their car door, and said "Hi. I'm 2 and a half. What are you doing?" As if getting out of a car didn't speak for itself. Every person was tickled by this encounter, as was I, because he says it in such a conversational way. I love his people skills! Harrison seems to have a comedic side as well. The other day Robert said "Harrison, you're crazy." and Harrison goes "You crazy!" With that, Robert and I laughed so hard and you could tell that the wheels were spinning in Harrison's head on how to get another laugh. Which he did. He has become very good at acrobatics and in the next week, he will be participating in soccer, martial arts, and possibly gymnastics (all 1 hour per week). I will DEFINITELY be adding pictures of that soon. And I anticipate that he will be swimming very well by the end of the summer.
And Brooks might need to join her brother in some of his sports activities. She is one extremely physical little 6 month old! Not only can she make it from one side of the room to the next in about 5 seconds, she is eagerly grabbing onto furniture in an attempt to pull herself up. I'm scared already. She definitely prefers to play with Harrison's action figurines and Robert's wooden shoe horns (don't ask) versus any of her pink, rattle baby toys. I'm thinking that my time is a bit limited on getting her to wear dresses and bows. So while I can still make these executive decisions to keep her dolled up, I'll do it. I'm willing to make a prediction that once she is able to call some shots, camo and superhero outfits will be part of her attire (fingers crossed that I am wrong). As long as she is not as free spirited as her brother in the clothes department, I'm fine with that. And what I mean by free spirited is... completely free of clothing at any given moment in time. But she has the most adorable, quirky smile so I have no doubt that that whatever she decides to wear will look perfect with a smile like that!
These two make us laugh all the time! They have such unique personalities already and Robert and I are so excited to see what they will come up with next.
I love your amatuer photo sessions!
