Disney!

It was off to Disney last weekend. Harrison and Brooks were all smiles from the second we pulled out of the driveway. There is nothing better than watching the excitement of your kids at Disney World. Well, it's a toss up between that and Christmas. But Harrison and Brooks are all about their love for characters and almost all things Disney so there was no worry that anyone would be bored. The kids were so excited that they never napped (big surprise) and did not fall asleep, either night, until 10:30. We stayed at the Dolphin Resort so the early evenings were spent splashing around by the pool and enjoying dinner with the characters like Goofy and Pluto. And the mornings and afternoons were jammed packed with rides, character sightings, more rides, and of course, standing in line. Standing in line wouldn't have been such an agonizing ordeal if Brooks would have used her own legs but she refused to do anything without being carried so Robert and I got more of a workout than we bargained for.

Brooks has a new obsession with Minnie and Mickey Mouse plus all things princess so her favorites things about the park would have to be the characters and maybe the new Little Mermaid ride. And Harrison prefers the characters from his shows so the Buzz ride, Monsters Inc. show, and the Peter Pan ride were his favorites at the Magic Kingdom. We spent Sunday at Hollywood Studios which left a lot to be desired but Harrison loved the Star Wars ride so that made it ok. Contrary to our thoughts that the Muppet Show would entertain both kids, neither seemed to enjoy it. Harrison was so uninterested in this show that he suggested we leave during the middle of it. Note to self: Do not try to entertain your kids with anything Muppet oriented. But Harrison considered the day a win because as we left, he was able to get another light saber, so that now, he and Daddy can battle...Star Wars style. And Brooks was happy with the day because she got a tattoo of Minnie Mouse. It was a fun, blow out weekend at Disney and we all had a great time!
